ClimateView is now a CDP Accredited Solution Provider

As a gold accredited city solutions provider, we are very proud to support CDP and share the belief that increased transparency will drive progress for cities and local governments building their zero carbon economies.

CDP is a global non-profit that runs the world’s environmental disclosure system for companies, cities, states and regions. It accredits partners which provide solutions for preparing and disclosing environmental information, and implementing environmental strategies.

The platform ClimateOS is revolutionizing how cities can operationalize their emission inventory and city data to radically simplify reporting compliance and also make planning and monitoring the transition on a local level much easier.

Referring to the partnership, Kyra Appleby, CDP Global Director Cities, States and Regions comments: “Cities are on the front line of climate change. In many countries their climate targets are more ambitious than national commitments but they need support to decarbonise rapidly. We are confident that ClimateView will help global cities reporting to CDP to take a system-wide approach to implementing science-based climate strategies, and we look forward to driving transparency and action together.”

ClimateOS has been designed to meet the needs of cities and the requirements of CDP, including a GPC Protocol and CRF compliant greenhouse gas inventory of scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, with the flexibility to account and track emissions that the city plans to address beyond the compliance requirements.  The underlying calculation model and framework creates what is a universally compliant data management framework.

Achieving the CDP accreditation confirms that ClimateOS Inventory and Carbon Budget features support cities in taking control of their data, improving transparency and the utility of the data. Together with the rest of the platform’s suite of integrated tools, cities can quickly understand what changes need to be made to reach the Paris Agreement. It supports the development of a verifiable climate strategy and shortens reporting cycles for improved progress tracking.

The ClimateOS Inventory feature is part of the free ClimateOS Analysis toolkit launching today, accessible to all city governments, in an effort to ease planning, and accelerate implementation and progress.
