ClearPath 2.0 Introduced to U.S. Local Governments at San Francisco Climate Week

MAY 2, 2025 – During San Francisco Climate Week, ClimateView contributed to key conversations about helping cities advance climate action by smarter use of data and more structured planning.

Later in the week, ClimateView and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability USA (ICLEI USA) co-hosted a dedicated session that introduced ClearPath 2.0 - a next-generation platform designed to help U.S. local governments move from planning to measurable implementation - to a network of city leaders, technical experts, and other partners.

A New Chapter for City Climate Action

The event with ICLEI USA brought together local government staff, technical experts, and other leaders in an intimate setting focused on practical implementation. Participants were introduced to ClearPath 2.0.

Participants explored how ClearPath 2.0 - built by ClimateView and provided by ICLEI USA - connects emissions inventories, targets, interventions, and performance tracking within a single integrated system. Designed to support cities and counties in moving from ambition to action, the platform enables users to connect emissions, energy, and economics, and develop finance-ready transition strategies.

Valuable feedback from city leaders and technical staff underscored the platform’s relevance. At a time when local governments are navigating not only financial and operational challenges but also an increasingly complex political landscape, the session reinforced the need for tools that are both adaptive and action-oriented.

The event also marked another milestone in the ClimateView–ICLEI USA partnership, highlighting a shared commitment to equipping local governments with solutions to meet the demands and capture the opportunities of the climate transition.

Laying the Groundwork for Implementation

Across the week’s discussions, a common theme emerged: the urgent need to translate climate strategies into coordinated, fundable action. Local governments and their partners emphasized the importance of having structures that connect plans with financing, clarify decision-making processes, and enable continuous adaptation as circumstances evolve.

These exchanges reinforced the role of platforms like ClearPath 2.0 - offering a shared data language, a dynamic modeling environment, and a practical framework for scaling local action. By operating as a shared system across jurisdictions, ClearPath 2.0 also strengthens opportunities for peer learning and collaboration, helping cities advance together toward measurable outcomes.

Supporting Local Governments in Their Next Steps

ClearPath 2.0 is designed to meet local governments where they are - whether launching new strategies or scaling existing plans, in jurisdictions of any size. Available to cities, towns, counties Tribal nations and regions through ICLEI USA under both membership and non-member licensing options, ClearPath 2.0 provides a structured, finance-ready approach to planning, execution, and progress tracking.

The platform also supports consultants and technical advisors working alongside local governments, offering a shared framework to strengthen coordinated, outcome-driven transition efforts. Organizations and firms interested in integrating ClearPath 2.0 into their work or exploring opportunities to collaborate as part of ICLEI USA’s partner ecosystem are invited to express interest
